How being left-handed helped me to think outside the box.

i usually work backwards, just like how i used to write letters when i first got hold of a pen. everything was always backwards. they say left-handers use the opposite side of their brain to the rest, i sharpen my pencil the wrong way round, i talk too much and i gave nothing away. the first time i realised the song i was listening to in my earphones was the one id use for the end of the film was travelling in the car with my mum through the moors. i saw the credits behind my eyes. and i knew, years before id even started the story.
I didn't know Hullensians were really afriad of pigs until 2 years later after coming up with the idea I stumbled across some fishermen myth that referred to the Bible about evil-spirited pigs drowning in water. Naturally a story like that effected sailors to such an extent that the word 'pig' was never allowed to be spoken.
Another is why I chose gold as Kist's bonelace. I knew it was special. strong. powerful. I believed it so much that as I watched a documentary programme I learned that scientists were using gold nanoparticles to explode cancer cells.
